違法薬物の乱用防止について Prevention of Illegal Drug Abuse
学生の皆さんへ
令和7年6月11日、本学学生が覚醒剤所持・使用容疑で逮捕されたとの報道がありました。昨今、若年層の大麻汚染等の薬物乱用が大きな問題となっており、本学もこれまで、入学時に「新入生総合教養講座」と題して違法薬物への警告を発し、併せて啓発パンフレット等を掲載していますが、再度ここに警告します。学生の皆さんは、あらためて薬物乱用防止の情報を視聴し、認識を深めてください。違法薬物の常套文句「疲れが取れる」、「頭がスッキリする」、「らくにダイエットできる」などの誘い文句はすべて誤った情報です。大麻、覚せい剤、危険ドラッグといった違法・禁止薬物の乱用は、乱用者自身の精神や身体に害を及ぼすだけでなく、家庭や友人関係の崩壊、殺人、放火等悲惨な事件の原因や社会の秩序を乱す等、計り知れない影響をもたらす場合があります。また、違法・禁止薬物を手にした時点で、厳しい社会的制裁を受け、その後の人生を棒に振ることにもなりかねません。大学としても厳格に対処することになります。学生ならびに職員の皆さんには、問題の重要性をよく認識し、決して違法・禁止薬物に関わることがないよう十分留意するとともに、本学の構成員としての良識ある行動をとるよう、注意を喚起します。本学はこのような違法行為に対して厳罰をもって臨みます。
今回の件に鑑み、今後本学は再発防止に向けて全学的な取り組みを実施していきます。その一つとして、違法薬物に関する注意喚起情報を掲載しましたので、必ずご覧ください。
6月26日は「国際麻薬乱用撲滅デー」であります。本学はこれを契機として、今後更なる薬物乱用防止に関する啓発及び取り組みに努めてまいります。

Dear students,
On June 11, 2025, it was reported that a Kumamoto University student was arrested on suspicion of possession and use of methamphetamine. In recent years, drug abuse, including cannabis use among young people, has become a major problem. Although the University has issued warnings about illegal drugs in the “General Education Course for New Students” at the time of admission to the University, and has also published educational pamphlets, we once again issue this strong warning. Students are encouraged to review the information on drug abuse prevention and deepen their awareness of the issue.
Phrases often used to lure people into drug use, such as “it will relieve fatigue,” “it will clear your head,” and “you can lose weight easily,” are all misinformation. The abuse of illegal and prohibited drugs such as marijuana, stimulants, and dangerous drugs not only harms the abuser's own mental and physical health, but can also lead to the breakdown of families and friendships, as well as cause tragic incidents such as murder and arson. Such acts disrupt social order and may result in devastating consequences.
Furthermore, possessing or using illegal drugs can result in severe social penalties and may ruin your future. The university will also respond with strict disciplinary measures.
Students and staff are reminded to be aware of the importance of the issue, to be careful not to be involved with illegal or prohibited drugs, and to act in a sensible manner as members of the University. The University will take strict measures to deal with such illegal activities.
In light of this incident, the University will be implementing a university-wide effort to prevent a recurrence. As one of these measures, we have posted an alert regarding illegal drugs on the portal. Please be sure to read it.
June 26th is the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The University will take this opportunity to further raise awareness and promote efforts to prevent drug abuse.
