Admission for Privately-funded International Students

Admission for Undergraduate Students
Qualifications
1) Applicants must not be Japanese citizens.
2) The completion of 12 years of education (or its educational equivalent) in a country other than Japan, or those who have been given special permission by the Minister of Education (MEXT).

Admissions Procedures (2005 Academic Year)
(Please note that the dates may differ slightly depending on the year.)
June or November
Take the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) Further information
Late November
Get the registration materials and application form from the Admission Section, Kumamoto University
Late January to early February
Submit the application forms to the Admission Section, Kumamoto University
Middle of February
An admission ticket for the exam will be sent to those judged qualified to enter.
The exam must be taken on the appointed day at the time and place specified on the admission ticket.
Late February
Take the entrance examination
The selection of applicants will be based on the results of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students and Kumamoto University's entrance examination, as well as an examination of each applicant's application documents. Further information
Early March
Receive the results of the entrance examination
Successful applicants will be notified by mail, and their examinee numbers will be posted on campus
Late March
Entrance procedures (Pay entrance and tuition fees, etc.)
April
Enroll in Kumamoto University
