Organization for General Education
Kyouyoukyouikuzissikikou
The Organization for General Education was established on April 1, 2003 after the dissolution of the Research Center for University Education. Study in this organization is designed to assist students in developing critical and open minds by providing an intellectual foundation in all areas of knowledge.
The administration and curricular structure have been developed to support the individual student's educational object, which may range from broad general education to highly specialized professional programs. Unlike the Faculties, the organization does not confer a degree.
The Organization also offers courses in Japanese Language and Japanese Studies for international students. Those who wish to attend one of the Japanese courses are required to take a placement test at the beginning of each semester.
The Organization is organized by teachers from all Faculties in the University.
