Kumamoto University Summer Program 2008 Concludes

The Kumamoto University Summer Program 2008 concluded on Friday, August 8th. Thirty university students from China and Korea participated in this two week program.
On the last day, each group delivered a presentation to faculty members that explained what they had learned and experienced during their stay in Kumamoto.
The presentations were followed by a closing ceremony, during which President Sakimoto awarded certificates to each participant.
In addition to learning Japanese through this program, the students also received lectures on Japanese affairs, experienced Japanese culture first-hand and participated in a study tour. On Sunday, August 3rd, they visited a private home in Kumamoto City and experienced life in a Japanese household.
Through this program, the participants were able to interact with each other, with the families they visited, and with the Kumamoto University students who supported them as tutors.
This was the first visit to Japan for most of the participants. They said that they were able to develop an understanding of Japan and Kumamoto from various points of view through these experiences.
