Kumamoto University signed academic and student exchange agreements with Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST)

Kumamoto University signed the university-level academic and student exchange agreements with Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) at Daejeon, Korea on September 28, 2006.
Previously, Faculty of Engineering and Graduate School of Science and Technology at Kumamoto University, and KAIST concluded the faculty-level academic agreement in 2001. KAIST is the well-known research institution in various fields of engineering in Korea. Two institutions have conducted with faculty and researcher exchanges mainly in the field of shock wave engineering and have made the outstanding achievements in various research activities.
As Kumamoto University Forum was held in Daejeon where KAIST is located, KAIST favorably backed up the forum and also agreed to conclude the university-level agreement, which has been upgraded from previous faculty-level agreement ending up this year.
The president of Kumamoto University visited KAIST on September 28, 2006 and signed the exchange agreement. As Japanese and Korean presses reported the ceremony, the news was drawn attention to the people in both countries.
