Kumamoto University Innovative Collaboration Organization
With the aim of strengthening cooperative agreements within the region and of fulfilling its functions as a central hub of research and an engine to train leading regional talent, Kumamoto University is working hard to return the university’s intellectual results to the society, especially to meet community needs.
In a climate of intense global competition, Kumamoto University has started a new approach toward building a system that can immediately transfer the results of original research to application in industry, through academic-industrial alliances and open innovation. This process will be accelerated by nurturing the specialized talents of students and faculty at the university.
This mission is shared by everyone affiliated with Kumamoto University, and will be implemented strategically and progressively by the KICO.
